‘Live action’ remakes of animated classics, or any remake of an already good film.

Remake the ones that had potential. but failed in the execution.

I watched Trailer Park Boys on a recommendation from a co-worker many years ago. I’ll have to look up FUBAR. I espouse the joys of Letterkenny to anyone that will listen. I’m the wrong person to ask about what Australians in general watch, though. They all seem to only watch the likes of Married At First Sight and Master Chef. Ugh. I’ve always kinda just gone my own way.

Zeitgeist: Addendum kinda did that for me. But the book Voltaire’s Bastards was the real lynchpin well before that. Even before that, back in the late eighties, I read a book about the history of money that I borrowed from the Devonport library that really shaped my views about finances and showed me what a farce it all is, but I can in no way remember the title or author.

A recent post on lemmy mentioned something called ‘money dysphoria’, and it really hit home.

I heard about how good Chris Lilley was so I tried watching that high school one, but I found nothing funny about his schtick. I might have just been to old for it. I thought The Comedy Company was pretty funny when I was a kid, but that’s pretty unfunny when I watch it now as well.

Aussie here that’s watched all of Corner Gas a couple of times, due to a recommendation from a Canadian friend. No-one else here has heard of it though. Big fan.

How ‘long-term’ are we talking? I’m getting kinda tired of waiting.

“With all due respect” is one of those handy phrases that can mean either. The user could be saying the amount of respect they think is due is zero.
